Beetroot or Coconut Fingers?

There are two types of people - fine upstanding individuals with taste and style who appreciate the magnificence of the coconut finger and then there are those "people" who like beetroot. I need to know how many of the Well Done Fillet readership prefer the ghastly beetroot over the sweet sticky loveliness of a coconut finger as it appears some of you appear to like the root of all evil.

It's important, probably the most important poll of the week.

Poll created by YouGov (hence the bias, heh)

  1. not twitter says:

Does this count as a vote or do I still have to go to the polling station tomorrow?

  2. Manuel says:

    this counts….more

  3. Fawksie says:

I like both, but I’m going to betray my culchie upbringing and insist on referring to them as “donkey’s lugs” :P

  4. Plongeur says:

    What if I like both?!

  5. Andino says:

Before I vote… Is a coconut finger like an iced finger with added coconut bits? If yes then this becomes a difficult choice and I could end up on the fence.

  6. Manuel says:

there’ll be no liking both….don’t even think about it…and yes Andino that’s exactly what a coconut finger is…the coconut is added my angels singing Cure songs….nice

  7. Andino says:

Sign me up for the coconut fingers then. I might have to attempt to make some as North Wales seems to be a coconut finger free zone.

  8. Kelly says:

Oh my, those coconut fingers do look tasty. I was picturing something more akin to a Bounty bar or a Summer roll. Hmmmm, I may need to try one.

  9. Jones says:

Who gets hung if the vote ends in a draw?

  10. Kelly says:

Andino, let us know how that baking attempt goes, we don’t have em in Australia either!

  11. Griefoftwats says:

I’m no great fan of beetroot, but ruining a perfectly decent iced bun with coconut is sheer madness. Thankfully I’ve never seen such a monstrosity in England.

  12. Little Miss Manuel says:

Jesus u have little to be doing!

  13. Manuel says:

arf….just back from the shop….v busy you know….

  14. toast says:

coconut can chew my balls – fact, the whole thai people can fuck clean aff with what they did to curry the barbarians that they are. Beetroot – beetrooot is ace – beetroot, carrot and ginger juice is scrummy – yes scrummy – beetroot in salads, dry in coleslaw – its the versatility of beetroot, its the root to ‘beet’ them all as they probably say in the beetroot marketing offices.

  15. toast says:

ps did you get any post off myself and herself?

  16. Manuel says:

oh and if it’s a hung vote the tories get in….and if they get in it’ll be beetroot for the masses and only tory toffs will get coconut fingers….it’s a grim future…

toast: yer wrong….so so wrong…beet yourself with a shoe

  17. Manuel says:

I did Toast. Did I not email…oh crikey, how rude. AFL was superb, really really superb. LMM is gonna make me a sock monster thing…she doesn’t know it yet….heh

  18. Grandad says:

I demand to vote for both. A coalition vote.

  19. Manuel says:

    now updated with unity candidate…..sake

  20. Grandad says:

Oy! What about coconut beetroot fingers?

  21. marv says:

That’s an easy choose … cake beets veg every time!

  22. mars says:

coconut finger hands down…. as long as its not one of the overbaked ones…. or stale…. i like em soft, squidgy, lightly browned and with a thick layer of butter in the middle…..

cuppa cha and a coconut finger anyone….

  23. Medbh says:

Cocomut has the texture of packing crate material.
    Nasty.

  24. Heptaparaparshinokh says:

@ Kelly, think more along the lines of a finger bun…assuming that’s what they are called in your state. In south Oz, they are finger buns.

  25. Little Miss Manuel says:

Why cant u have a vote for all three?

  26. Erica says:

Listen, I LOVE beetroot.. But, I’ve never had a coconut ‘finger.’ But, I do love coconut. So therefore I had to choose the beetroot option, but if there were an option for both, I would probably have chosen it.

  27. sock monster thing! hmmph! it was quite plainly Medusa, she’s turned people to stone for less.

i voted beetroot – i like both if i’m honest, but you can’t grow coconut fingers down the allotment. (god knows i’ve tried, but it seems to still just be mostly weeds.)

  28. cat says:

definate vote for the lovely coconut fingers, though smokey bacon crisps are very yumma

  29. Mark says:

    Manuel,

Coconut fingers are the brussels sprouts of cakes. Fact. End of.
Wait, maybe they’re the cauliflower of cakes. You see where I’m going with this. Mouth breather cakes, that’s what they are, mouthbreather cakes!

What brand of smokey bacon crips? This is important.

PS on another note, Citeh lost, no champions league for them heh heh heh.

  30. Manuel says:

yes at the end of the day we can set aside our differences…put the bushels of beets down, bin the fingers and in unison take a great big deep breath and…

    LAUGH AT CITEH!

    hahahahahahahahahahaha!

    Good times!

  31. Little Miss Manuel says:

“CITEH” mighnt hav got into champions league but oh sorry did the other manchester team get into final? Eh?eh?mayb the cousin should sell me his ticket to Madrid!!

  32. Manuel says:

ha….maybe we do something about your spelling tomorrow…hehehehe

  33. Kelly says:

Brussels sprouts! Now those are a special brand of evil. Ghastly things.

Hepta: Yeah, thanks. I’ve seen similar, we call em finger buns or sticky fingers in Melbourne. I’ll have to add my own coconut though, as they just come topped with icing!

  34. andrea says:

I was certainly going for the coconut iced finger bun until I saw the crispy bacon! So, no vote from me.

  35. Stoney says:

Kelly, forget about the finger buns and adding coconut, go large and get yourself a Boston bun. You know it makes sense!

  36. Stephan says:

Never even HEARD of “beetroot.” Is that somehow different from a plain old beet? Is it only found in Ireland? Sounds suspicious, frankly, and not at all tasty.

  37. White Rabbit says:

    Damn. I want all three!
